Many of us have difficulty expressing the core ideas of the Christian faith. In the first centuries of the early church, it was necessary to develop ways to help believers—most of whom had no access to the scriptures—to know the nature of God and the truth about Christ. For hundreds of years, Christ-followers have used various creeds to express the tenets of their faith. The Apostles’ Creed is the earliest of those statements of faith. It begins, “I believe in God the Father Almighty.” In this new sermon series, we’ll explore the basis of our faith through the lens of the Apostles’ Creed.
